English language All the students who applied to medical colleges in Punjab province will be admitted. Have you ever heard of such a thing? This time, it is going to happen. Let me give you all the details in case you do not get admission in MBBS in Pakistan and are considering going abroad. You can go to China’s top university, Shandong First Medical University, at a cost that is 50% less than the fees in Pakistan, and you can receive your MBBS education from an excellent institution. UHS Lahore has issued a temporary merit list for private sector medical and dental colleges in Punjab, which includes the names of all students who applied for MBBS under both open merit and overseas categories.
The total number of students who applied for open merit in Punjab's private medical colleges is 8,104, while there are 4,150 open merit seats for MBBS throughout the province. Moreover, there are 200 overseas seats in all private sector medical and dental colleges in Punjab. A total of 86 students applied for the overseas category, and all of them have been selected in the private medical colleges in Punjab. The first merit list will be announced on February 5, 2025.
Let’s discuss how the merit situation will unfold, what the merit will be on the first list, and when the second list will be issued. In total, there will be 4,150 students selected on the first merit list for open merit, with a minimum merit score of 80.3%. That means those scoring 80.3% will be admitted to private sector medical colleges. However, you do not need to worry if your score is below 80%. You could still get admission in MBBS programs in government and private medical colleges in Punjab.
Now, when will the second merit list for private admissions be issued? The first list will be out on February 5, and students whose names will appear will have to submit their fees within three days. The second merit list will be released on February 10, 2025, and the merit will gradually decrease. Keep in mind that there are students who scored 94%, 90%, and scores like 94.3%, and many have their names in government admissions as well, so they will definitely go to government colleges. Additionally, many students who applied may face issues with fees, which will leave seats vacant, allowing students to be upgraded from the waiting list.
Further discussing how much the merit can drop: all candidates with a position above 6,000, meaning those with aggregates over 75, can consider themselves for the upcoming merit list. However, they will have to wait; names may appear on the second list, or possibly the third. Candidates scoring 79, 78, or 77 may see their names on the third list. However, do not be concerned about whether additional merit lists will be issued after three; merit lists will be created as long as seats remain vacant. You’ll know from past years that there have been as many as 27 merit lists, and this admission process will continue until all seats are filled.
If you do not get admission in MBBS in Pakistan, you can still apply to the top university in China, Shandong First Medical University, as admissions are currently open.
